PMO secretary urges teachers to provide quality education to primary students

NETRAKONA July 23, 2019 (BSS) – Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Sajjadul Hassan has urged the primary school teachers to provide the students with quality education so that they can groom them up as enlightened citizens.

Sajjadul Hassan said this while addressing a discussion organized by District Primary Education Department on “Ensuring quality primary education” at local public hall here today.

The present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been implementing many pragmatic programs to reach the quality education to every areas including hard to reach areas of the country, the PMO secretary said..

He said the government of Sheikh Hasina has nationalized 26,194 new primary schools, built up multimedia classrooms and strengthened the learning capacity of the schools though providing them with digital equipments including computer, laptop and multi-media projector.

Some 1.30 crore primary school students are getting stipend, he said adding that salaries of the primary school teachers were also increased during the last ten years.

Chaired by Director General of primary education department Dr. AFM Monjur Kadir, the meeting was addressed, among others, by secretary of primary and mass education Akram-aL-Hussain, officiating deputy commissioner of Netrakona Ariful Islam, chairman of Netrakona Zila Parishad Prasanta Kumar Ray and additional police super of Netrakona SM Ashraful Alam.

Recalling outstanding contributions of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for reaching the light of quality education to the primary level students, the PMO secretary said, the government led by Bangabandhu nationalized over 37,000 primary schools in the country after independence.

Earlier a rally of mothers was also held on the occasion.
