DHAKA, July 23, 2019 (BSS) – Father of a traffic police sergeant Golam
Kibria, who was killed recently in a road accident, today filed a writ with
High Court, seeking Taka 10 crore in compensation for his family.
Advocate Md Faizullah filed the writ for Kibria’s father Md Eunus Ali
Sarder, making 10 people including Home Secretary, Road, Transport and
Bridges Secretary, Inspector General of Police and chairman of Jamuna Group
respondents in the writ.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md.
Khairul Alam will hold hearing on the writ on July 28.
Traffic sergeant Golam Kibria got seriously injured on July 15 as a speedy
covered van of Jamuna Group ran him over on Barisal-Patuakhali Highway, while
he was observing his duty. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital
(DMCH), where he succumbed to his injuries.
