Fake Indian currency factory unearthed in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, July 21, 2019 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) unearthed a fake Indian currency manufacturing factory and arrested a three-member gang from a residence at Ramchandrapur area under Boalia Police Station in the city today.
The arrested persons were identified as Rubel Hossain of Godagari, Mukhlesur Rahman of Shibgonj in Chapainawabgonj and Jahangir of Natore.
On a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted the raid and arrested the fake currency manufacturers red-handed.
The RAB team seized 10 lakh Indian fake rupees, rupee-making machines including laptops, printers, laminating machines, halogen lights, scanners, papers and cartridges from their possession.
Squadron Leader Syed Abdullah Murad of RAB-5 told journalists that the gang was manufacturing and supplying counterfeit notes to different parts of the country.
A case has been filed with Boalia Model Police Station in this connection and the arrested persons along with the seized notes and machineries were handed over to police.
