U.S.-listed Chinese firms trade mostly higher

NEW YORK, July 20, 2019 (BSS/Xinhua) – U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded
mostly higher on Friday with seven of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P
U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on an upbeat note.

Shares of JD.com and ZTO Express increased 1.34 percent and 0.77 percent,
respectively, leading the gainers in the top 10 stocks of the index.

Shares of NetEase and TAL Education decreased 1.70 percent and 0.66
percent, respectively, top two decliners in the top 10 stocks of the index.

U.S. stocks closed lower on Friday as investors digested corporate earnings
reports and looked for clues for the central bank’s next monetary policy
move.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 68.77 points, or 0.25 percent, to
27,154.20. The S&P 500 was down 18.50 points, or 0.62 percent, to 2,976.61.
The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 60.75 points, or 0.74 percent, to
8,146.49.

As of Thursday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 2,712.49,
marking a 2.22-percent decrease for the month-to-date returns and an 18.38-
percent gain for the year-to-date returns.
