DHAKA, July 19, 2019 (BSS) – A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude in the Richter Scale jolted different parts of the country including Sylhet city at 3.22pm today.
“The epicenter of the tremor was located at Arunachal state of India, 499 kilometers North-East of Dhaka,” Nizam Uddin, a meteorologist at Dhaka Met office told BSS.
No casualties and damages were reported till the filling of this report.
According to seismologists, an earthquake ranging from 5 to 5.9 is considered a moderate earthquake.
