ACC’s 12 recommendations to check DWASA corruption

DHAKA, July 18, 2019 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has identified 11 sources of corruption in Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (DWASA) and made 12 recommendations to check the corruption.

ACC Commissioner (Enquiry) Dr Md Mozammel Haque Khan handed over a report in this regard to LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam at his office here today, said an ACC press release.

Receiving the report, the minister said corruption is a barrier to the country’s progress, including economic development.

He said necessary measures will be taken and corruption will be not tolerated at any level of his ministry.

Mozammel Haque told reporters that the ACC had formed 25 teams in 2017 for 25 institutions, including ministries, directorates and different government bodies, to identify the sources of corruption.

The ACC has already submitted 14 reports to the ministries concerned, he said.
