National Science Museum to celebrate 50th moon landing anniversary

DHAKA, July 18, 2019 (BSS) – Half-a- century back on July 20 1969, humans on board Spacecraft ‘Apollo-11’ first set foot on the Moon.

To celebrate the golden jubilee of the landing, National Museum of Science and Technology (NMST) has chalked out elaborate programmes on Saturday, said a press release issued here today.

Programmes including ‘Timeline of Space Exploration’ display, Astronomy Olympiad, painting competition, quiz and prize giving ceremony would be held at the Museum premises from 8am to 4pm on that day.

Also, there will be arrangement for sky observation with powerful telescope at 7pm.

U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl R. Miller will be present at the programme, added the release.

Director General of the NMST, Muhammad Munir Chowdhury said the programmes will not only make the historical day memorable, it will also encourage the next generation to know more about space and astronomy to fulfill the country’s space dreams.
