DHAKA, July 18, 2019 (BSS)- The by-polls to one woman reserved parliamentary seat in the 11th parliament, which fell vacant after the death of lawmaker Rushema Begum, will be held on August 18.
The Election Commission (EC) declared the polls schedule today, EC Joint Secretary SM Asaduzzaman told BSS.
He said the EC has fixed the last date of submission of nomination papers on July 25, the scrutiny on July 28 and the withdrawal on August 1.
“The polling will be held on August 18,” he added.
EC Joint Secretary Md Abdul Baten will be the returning officer of the by-polls, saduzzaman said.
Rushema Begum died on July 10.
