Rifat’s wife Minni placed on 5-day remand
BARGUNA, July 17, 2019 (BSS) – A court here today put Ayesha Siddiqua Minni, wife of slain Rifat Sharif, on five days remand.
District Senior Judicial magistrate Mohammad Sirajul Islam Gazi granted the five days remand of Minni after investigation officer (IO) of the murder case produced her before the court and prayed for seven days remand.
Earlier, police arrested Minni on July 16 last for her alleged involvement in the Rifat Sharif murder, reaching the arrestees, so far, to 14 in connection with the gruesome killing.
Of them, the ten accused gave confessional statements under section 164 to the court, IO said.
However, the main accused Sabbir Hossain Nayan alias Nayan Bond was killed in a gunfight with police on July 2.
A band of miscreants chopped Rifat Sharif mercilessly on June 27 last in broad day light in front of Barguna Government College when Rifat and his wife Ayesha Siddiqua were leaving the college premises.
He died at Barishal Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital in the afternoon on that day.
