PM-PGR 2 LAST DHAKA

The prime minister said the country is marching forward with the spirit of
the great Liberation War.

“We would have to move ahead holding our heads high with self-dignity as a
victorious nation,” she said.

The premier said Bangladesh could earn a dignified position in the world
due to development activities implemented by her government in the last 10
years.

The prime minister said, “We want to set an example in South Asia by
transforming Bangladesh into a developed and prosperous country.”

Sheikh Hasina said, “We have decided to observe the “Mujib Year” from March
17, 2020 to March 26, 2021. Although we are working to make the country free
from poverty, we have already been able to make it hunger-free before
observance of the Mujib Year.”

Noting that her government made the biggest ever national budget of Taka
5,23,190 crore, she said, “We’re gradually marching forward. We’ve been able
to increase our GDP growth at 8.10 percent while the per capita income has
also increased.”

Due to her government’s massive development initiatives, Sheikh Hasina said
the poverty rate came down to 21.8 percent.
