JAMALPUR, July 17, 2019 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
arrested a youth on charge of spreading rumour over the construction of Padma
Bridge in the social media of the district last evening.
The arrested was identified as Md Riyad Miah, 17, son of Md Forkan Ali,
resident of village Gopal Nagar Dattapara in Islampur Upazila of the
district.
He used fake Face book account for spreading the rumour, scaring people.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force raided the house of Forkan
Ali of the village and arrested Riyad from the house.
Deputy Director of RAB-14, Md Tofayel Ahmed Miah said, a case was filed
against the arrestee with the concerned police station under the Digital
Security Act as he was spreading rumour over the Padma Bridge construction
through social media, including Face book.
