More FFs to get houses in Mujib Year: Mozammel

DHAKA, July 15, 2019 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque today said the government has taken plans to build more houses for freedom fighters and hand over the houses to them in the Mujib Year to be celebrated in 2020.

“A total of 2,962 houses have already been allotted for them… 15,000 more houses will be built and allotted to the destitute freedom fighters in the second phase,” said Mozammel while discussing about the activities of Liberation War Ministry at the ongoing DC conference at the cabinet division conference room here in the morning, said a press release.

The minister also said the houses will be presented to the freedom fighters as gifts on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Beside, special grants will be given to those freedom fighters who are suffering from various deadly diseases and the government will instantly arrange treatment for them free of cost, the minister said in reply to a question of Madaripur Deputy Commissioner.

Mozammel said a museum will be set up at Kalurghat Radio Centre in Chattogram.

In reply to another question, the minister said a total of 20 projects are being run under the ministery for conservation and renovation of the places related to the Liberation War.

Over the proposals made by deputy commissioners on observance of the ‘Mujib Year’, the minister assured them that their proposals will be discussed with the authorities concerned.
