DHAKA, July 15, 2019 (BSS) – Defending champions Abahani Limited will lock-horn their arch-rival Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in their crucial match of Bangladesh Premier League Football scheduled to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS).
The match kicks off at 7 pm following the match between Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends society and Team Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation which begins at 4 pm at the same venue.
The popular sky blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani Limited currently placed second position in the points table with 51 points from 20 matches, four points less than the league leaders Bashundhara Kings, who have 55 points. It means that the new comers need only three wins from their remaining five matches to clinch the title.
The six times league champions Abahani must have to win their remaining four matches to stay in the championship race. If they loss or drop points they will knock out from the title race.
On the other hand, Mohammedan SC currently placed at ninth position with 17 points from 19 outings.
In the day’s other matches, NoFeL Sporting Club takes on Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra at Shaheed Bhulu Stadium in Noakhali at 4 pm, Bashundhara Kings meet Brothers Union Club at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari at 4 pm and Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra face Arambagh Krira Sangha at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj at 4 pm.
