Stern actions to be taken against repression on women, children: Indira
DHAKA, July 14, 2019 (BSS) – Newly appointed State Minister for Women and
Children Affairs Ministry Begum Fazilatunnesa Indira today said the
government would take stern action against repression on women and children.
“We will have to work together to stop repression on women and
children….Social and cultural organisations should play important role in
eliminating repression against women and children from the society,” she said
while exchanging views with journalists at her secretariat office here.
The state minister underscored the need for creating social awareness to
stop repression on women and children.
“The government has formulated different laws against violence against
women and children. The people should come forward to build resistance
against the social menace,” she said.
The state minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government has taken
various initiatives to ensure rights of women as well as children and women
empowerment.
Secretary of the ministry Kamrun Nahar welcomed the state minister at her
office.
