DHAKA, July 14, 2019 (BSS) – The High Court (HC) today ordered authorities concerned to test pasteurized milk samples in four different laboratories within a week to detect contamination including presence of antibiotics.

A High Court division bench comprising Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir passed the order, setting July 23 for holding further hearing in this regard.

The four laboratories fixed by the court today are- National Food Safety Laboratory, laboratories of Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR,B), and Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute.

“Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) would collect samples of milk in presence of the representatives of these four institutes and hand those over to them.
