2 injured in Ctg landslide
CHATTOGRAM, July 13, 2019 (BSS) – Two people were injured after a
landslide in private owned hill in Arefin Nagar area under city’s Bayezid
thana on Saturday.
Rescuers pulled out two survivors from the debris and sent them to
Chattogram Medical College Hospital, duty officer of Bayezid Bostami thana
said.
“Two people were trapped under the mud after a landslide. They have been
rescued with minor injury and have received first aid,” Samrat Khisa,
assistant commissioner (land) of Hathazari upazila told BSS.
Firefighters carried out the rescue operation successfully, Purnachandra
Matsudi, Deputy Assistant Director of Agargad Fire Station told BSS.
Chattogram city and it adjacent districts has been experiencing incessant
rainfall over the last eight days, triggering landslides in several parts of
the port city.
The district administration is conducting drives to evacuate people living
in the risky hills, the assistant commissioner (land) said.
