PABNA, July 13, 2019 (BSS) – Four people, including three members of a family, were killed by lightning in Bera upazila of Pabna today.
The victims were Raham Ali, 52, Motaleb Sardar, 55, and his two sons Farid Sardar, 22, and Sharif Sardar, 18, of Pachuria village of Chakla union under Bera upazila.
Asif Anam Siddique, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Bera, told BSS that the mishap took place while they were processing green jute for decomposition beside Pachuria School field in heavy rain around 3pm on Saturday, leaving them dead on the spot.
The UNO also said that the victim’s families will get financial assistance from the government.
