RAJSHAHI, July 13, 2019 (BSS)- A national conference on ‘Population and
Sustainable Development: Issues and Challenges in Bangladesh (NCPSD)’ was
held at Rajshahi University (RU) here today.
Department of Population Science and Human Resource Development (PSHRD)
hosted the conference at Senate Building sharing the ideas and research
findings relevant to the issues and challenges of sustainable development for
Bangladesh through the academicians, research scholars and other
stakeholders.
RU Vice-chancellor of Prof Abdus Sobhan addressed the opening session as
chief guest while Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Jakaria and UNFPA Representative to
Bangladesh Dr Asa Britta Torkelsson spoke as special guests.
PSHRD Chairman Prof Nazrul Islam Mondal presided over the ceremony while
Prof Ashraful Islam Khan welcomed the participants.
More than 100 teachers and experts concerned from different universities of
the country took part in the conference.
During the daylong conference, four technical sessions were held and 24
papers were presented.
