RANGAMATI, July 13, 2019 (BSS) – Landside killed two more people at Kaptai here today, second such incident in the upazila in one week after beginning of the monsoon.
The deceased persons were identified as Atul Barua, 50 and Acha Mong Marma, 42.
The incident took place at 11 am today at Karigar Para area when the two victims were waiting to get in an auto-rickshaw in front of a tea stall in the lower slope of a hill on Kaptai-Rangamati road.
All on a sudden a portion of the hill collapsed on the auto-rickshaw, killing them on the spot.
Atul Barua, hailed from Raozan Upazila while Acha Mong was a resident of Karigar Para.
In a similar landslide incident two people including a child died at Mali Colony of Kalabagan area on July 8 last.
