Mominul’s 157 not out steers BCB XI to strong position
DHAKA, July 10, 2019 (BSS) – Captain Mominul Haque led the side from the front, hitting an unbeaten 157 as BCB XI piled up 303-2 against Vidharba Cricket Association on the first day of the four-day match of the Dr. (Capt) K.Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament organized by Karnataka Cricket Association on Wednesday.
Opener Jahurul Islam however missed out on his ton, being out on 90. But Jahurul and Mominul adde177-run for the second wicket stand to help the side reach a strong position after opener Saif Hasan was out on 19. Jahurul struck a dozen of boundaries in a knock in which he played 202 balls.
Mominul’s 157 off 220 balls was studded by 20 fours and one six.
After the dismissal of Jahurul, Mominul shared 80-run with Nazmul Hossain Shanto in an undefeated third wicket stand.
Before bails were drawn for day one, Shanto was batting on 24, along with Mominul Haque.
