President mourns death of lawmaker Rushema Begum
DHAKA, July 10, 2019 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today mourned the
death of Rushema Begum, member of parliament (MP) of women reserved seat of
Faridpur constituency and also a member of parliamentary standing committee
on Water Resources Ministry.
In a condolence message, the head of the state expressed deep shock and
sorrow at her death.
He also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound
sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Rushema breathed her last due to a cardiac arrest at a hospital in
Faridpur at the age of 85 last night.
She was the wife of Imamuddin Ahmed, former president of Faridpur district
unit of Awami League and also very close aide of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
