DHAKA, July 9, 2019 (BSS) – Khaled Mahmud Sujon, the team manager and the BCB director is ready to be the interim coach in Bangladesh’s upcoming tour in Sri Lanka where they would play a three-match ODI series later this month.

Mahmud has the experience to be the Bangladesh’s interim coach in the past. As Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) parted ways with Steve Rhodes, there is little possibility that they could find a coach within a short time.

Moreover the BCB also brought up changes in the backroom staffs, a task that is not possible within short period of time.

In the wake of the situation Mahmud’s name came to the fore and the man himself said that he is available to play a similar role if proposed by the BCB.

Mahmud, who had earlier, was interim coach of Bangladesh after Chandika Hathurusingha left the job, added that he is open to take the responsibility, if the board decide to give him a similar responsibility.

”The thing about me is that, I am always available. I don’t know. Coaching is my profession,” said Mahmud.

He is the coach of Abahani Limited and also the BPL team Dhaka Dynamites.

”Board has given me an interim responsibility once. Will I work on interim basis, that’s a thing too? Will board think me as an interim? That’s another thing too,” he said.

“I think we will get the coach at the right time. BCB is trying to find a good coach. I believe after the World Cup many of coaches contract will come to an end. If we can finish this in short time, maybe we will find a good coach,” he added.
