Ukrainian agricultural exports to EU up 30.8 pct in Jan-May

KIEV, July 6 (BSS/Xinhua) – Ukrainian agricultural exports to the European
Union (EU) countries grew by 30.8 percent in the first five months of 2019,
compared to the same period last year, wrote Ukrainian acting minister of
agrarian policy and food Olga Trofimtseva on her personal Facebook page on
Friday.

“Export of Ukrainian products to the EU during the reporting period
increased by 30.8 percent and amounted in 2.97 billion U.S. dollars. Import
increased by 12.1 percent and amounted in 1.227 billion U.S. dollars,” wrote
Olga Trofimtseva on her social media account.

The top five European countries with the highest goods turnover this year
are the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Germany and Italy, said the official.

The main Ukrainian products in the EU exports structure are cereal grains
and vegetable oils.

According to the data previously provided by the ministry, in 2018
Ukrainian agricultural exports to the EU countries increased by 8.7 percent
compared to the previous year, and amounted in 6.3 billion U.S. dollars.
