Appropriate policy for building entrepreneurship demanded

DHAKA, July 4, 2019 (BSS) – Speakers at a seminar urged the government to formulate appropriate policy alongside developing leadership to grow up entrepreneurship to expedite the country’s journey towards middle-income one.

Entrepreneurship Programme of Dhaka School of Economics (DScE) organized the seminar titled “Leadership Quality of Entrepreneurship” at DScE campus, said a press release today.

Professor Dr. Ireen Akhter of Institute of Business Administration of Jahangirnagar University made a keynote presentation. She said the main attribute to become successful leader is to know thyself and aptitude for which he/she must share pain and success with the followers.

KSM Mostafizur Rahman, Managing Director of National Agricare Group, Dr Nadia Binta Amin, President of WEND and Jahangir Hyder, Head of Business Development at ACME Laboratories among others spoke in the seminar as panel discussants with Professor Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, coordinator of DScE’s
Entrepreneurship Program, in the chair.

Mostafizur Rahman said entrepreneurs needed to be arranged work life balances to demonstrate creativity in the society.

Dr. Nadia Binte Amin said women entrepreneurs are now getting social recognition due to present government’s multi-dimension activities.

Jahangir Hyder depicted how entrepreneurs take risk to resolve problems of the society and create scope for employment opportunity with innovative ideas.

Muhammad Mahboob Ali opined in Bangladesh Entrepreneurship is growing at
a small scale, but as the country’s economy is progressing so entrepreneurship management ability and leadership quality should be worked
at a coherent manner.

He noted without ease of doing business, entrepreneurship ability and gardening innovation cannot work in the formal sector which is time demanding.

Among others, Sara Tasneem, Assistant Professor, and Entrepreneurial Economists Md. Jamal Hossain and Sajjad Biplob took part in the discussion.
