Anisul for applying Singapore’s experience in easing case backlog

DHAKA, July 3, 2019 (BSS) – Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs
Minister Anisul Huq today said Bangladesh can apply experience of Singapore
in easing backlog of cases in the country as many of those steps taken by
them can be adopted here as well.

“Singapore too used to have case backlog and they solved the problem very
meticulously. We too can apply the experience of Singapore in easing backlog
of cases in our country,” he said these to newsmen after coming out of his
meeting with Singaporean envoy Derek Loh at his Gulshan residence.

The law minister said the main focus of his meeting with Loh was law and
investment.

“Singapore has problem regarding human resource, so they cannot come here
to provide the expertise. We have to go there as part of training programme
to gather the know-how,” he added.

Anisul said the Singaporean businessmen are keen to make investment here in
Bangladesh and the envoy said his countrymen are already making huge
investment, reaping benefits of Bangladesh’s investment-friendly law and
environment.

“I have told the Singapore High Commissioner that foreign investors can
take hundred percent profit back to their home country after making
investment here, this facility does not exist in any other country in the
world. We have made many investment-friendly acts and will formulate more if
necessary,” the minister further said.
