Three matches of Women’s Handball League decided in opener

DHAKA, June 29, 2019 (BSS) – Three matches of the Cute Women’s Handball League were decided on the opening day (Saturday) at Shaheed captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city.

On the day’s opening matches, Dhaka Mariners Young’s Club beat Dilkusha Sporting Club by 38-19 goals after leading the first half by 21-4 goals in the inaugural match.

Viqarunnisa Noon Sports Club defeated RN Sports by 28-21 goals after dominating the first half by 12-6 goals in the day’s second fixture and Arambagh Krira Sangha outclassed Jamalpur Sports Academy by 46-15 goals after leading the first half by 19-6 goals in the last match of the day.

Earlier, Moushumi Industries Limited chairman Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.

Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, league committee’s chairman and deputy police commissioner (finance) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Shamol Kumar Mukharjee, and league committee’s’ secretary Mokbul Hossain were also present on the occasion.

A total of nine clubs are taking part in the league, sponsored by Moushumi Industries Limited and organized by BHF.

Participating clubs: Dhaka Mariners Youngs Club, Arambagh Krira Sangha, RN Sports Home, Madaripur Handball Training center, Viqarunnisa Noon Sports Club, Gofur Beluch Smrity Sangsad, Jamalpur Sports Academy, Quantum Foundation and Dilkusha Sports Club.
