Ansar win double crowns in National ITF Taekwondo

DHAKA, June 27, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Ansar won both the men’s and women’s crowns in the Bashundhara Tissue 11th National ITF Taekwondo competition that concluded today (Thursday) at National Sports Council gymnasium in the city.

Ansar won all the nine gold in women’s senior section and bagged all eight gold medals in men’s senior section to maintain their supremacy.

Besides, Dhaka district finished runners-up in both the sections.

Alamin Sikder of Ansar was named the best player of the competition. He was given cash award of Taka twenty thousand for his outstanding performance.

Bangladesh Ansar sports director M Nurul Hasan Faridi was the chief guest on the closing day and distributed the prizes.

Shama Proshad Bepari, former joint secretary of education ministry, was present as the special guest.

Bangladesh International Taekwondo Association’s (BITA) Secretary general Salaiman Sikder, BITA treasurer Shimul Sikder and committee’s chairman Dana Ishat , were among others, present on the occasion.

A total 200 senior men’s, women’s and children players from ten districts across the country took part in sparing and pattern categories, sponsored by Bashundhara Tissue and organized by Bangladesh Taekwondo Association (BTA).
