DHAKA, June 26, 2019 (BSS) – The Dhaka University (DU) authorities here today announced a Tk 810.42 crore budget for the fiscal year 2019-19 at its annual senate assembly.
DU treasurer Md Kamal Uddin placed the budget in the senate assembly held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university with Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair.
This year, Tk 452.37 crore has been allocated for salary and allowances which is 55.82 per cent of the total budget.
The University Grants Commission will provide Taka 694.65 crore for the budget and Tk 70 crore will come from DU’s own sources. The budget is likely has a deficit of Tk 45.77 crore, the treasurer told the senate.
Professor Kamal also presented a Tk 761.55 crore revised budget for the 2018-19 fiscal. Last year, the Dhaka University gave a Tk 741.13 crore budget.
Senate members of the university discussed the proposed budget and other issues of DU in the meeting.
