Mild heat wave likely to abate

DHAKA, June 26, 2019 (BSS) – The mild heat wave sweeping over some parts of the country may abate at some places as rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at several places today.

“Mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the regions of Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Rajshahi, Pabna and Dinajpur and it may abate from some places”, said a met office bulletin issued here this morning.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to
heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions”, it added.

“Rainfall activity may increase”, said the bulletin, as an outlook for
next 72 hours.

However, the day and night temperature may fall by 1-2degree Celsius over the country due to the rain, said the release.

The highest temperature on Tuesday was recorded 38.0 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and today’s minimum temperature was 23.6 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat in Rangpur.

The sun sets at 6.50 pm today and rises at 5.13 am tomorrow in the capital.
