Tazul for making waste management eco-friendly
DHAKA, June 23, 2019, (BSS) – LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Md Tazul
Islam today underscored the need for the modernisation of the waste
management in an eco-friendly way to reduce pressure on country’s land.
The minister said this while addressing a review meeting on Dhaka North
City Corporation (DNCC)’s Aminbazar Landfill Extension and Modernisation
project as the chief guest at the Local Government Division conference room
at the secretariat here.
The government will implement Aminbazar project involving Taka 827 crore
for the long-lasting solution of the waste management of DNCC, the minister
said, adding that the government with its own fund will implement the project
in three years.
The Local Government Division (LGD) Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed and
officials concerned of DNCC were present on the occasion.
