70th founding anniversary of AL celebrated in Rangpur

RANGPUR, June 23, 2019 (BSS) – The 70th founding anniversary of Bangladesh
Awami League (AL) was celebrated in the city today through various colourful
programmes amid huge enthusiasm and festivity.

The founding anniversary was observed with a pledge to build a ‘Sonar
Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
by realising visions 2021 and 2041 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina.

The district unit of AL hoisted the national and party flags at party
office and placed wreaths at Bangabandhu’s Mural on the Bangabandhu Square in
the city. Besides, a colourful rally was brought out on the streets.

Later, a discussion was arranged on the Bangabandhu Square premises with
Acting President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed in the chair.

General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, its Organising
Secretary Advocate Anwarul Islam, Treasurer Abul Kashem, Office Secretary
Tauhidur Rahman Tutul and leaders of the district, city and upazila units of
AL addressed the discussion.

The speakers said Bangabandhu and AL are inseparable as everlasting sources
of inspirations, and the present government under the dynamic leadership of
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to build an economically
advanced country.

Narrating the glorious history of AL since its inception, Advocate Rezaul
Karim said the country achieved Independence through the War of Liberation in
1971 under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He called upon leaders and workers of AL and its associate bodies to work
for ensuring well-being of common people as dreamt by Bangabandhu and
highlight huge developments achieved during the past 10 years.

Besides, the city unit of AL, different associate bodies of AL and district
unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League celebrated the founding anniversary through
various programmes in the city.
