JS delegation of defence off to DR Congo
DHAKA, June 22, 2019 (BSS) – A 10-member Bangladesh delegation of the
Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Defence left here for
Democratic Republic (DR) of the Congo on Saturday.
The delegation led by Committee Chairman Mohammad Subid Ali Bhuiyan will
be visiting the UN Peacekeeping Mission areas on their five-day official
visit, said an official press release issued here today.
The delegation will make visits to the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Police
contingents in UN peacekeeping mission there.
Besides, the delegation will also make a courtesy call on the chief
officials of UN peacekeepers in DR Congo and will exchange views with the
Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG), Deputy Special
Representative of the Secretary-General (DSRSG), Force Commander, UN Police
Commissioner and Governor of Ituri province in a meeting, the release added.
The JS body delegation is scheduled to return home on June 29.
