Zia shares 3rd position of Goa International Chess
DHAKA, June 21, 2019 (BSS)- GM Ziaur Rahman Zia shared the third position
along with 18 more players securing four points after the fifth round games
of Goa International Open Grandmasters Chess Tournament now being held in
Goa, India.
Tahsin Tajwar Zia earned three points, Shawket Bin Osman Shaon earned 2.5
points, Mezanur Rahman earned two points, CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh and Monjur
Alam earned 1.5 points, Anisuzzaman Jewel and Abzid rahman bagged one point
after fifth round games.
In the day’s fifth round games held today (Friday), Zia beat FM Dang Hoang
Son of Vietnam, Tahsin beat WIM Mahalakshmi of India, Shaon beat M A Qureshi
of India, Monjur drew with Shintre Neel of India, Abzid drew with Srimathi of
India, CM Chanchal lost to GM Mikheil Mchedlisvili of Georgia, Mezan lost to
FM Ramakrishna of India, Jewel lost to WIM Gagare Shalmali of India, Jodunath
lost to Sakhawaty Sepehr of Afghanistan.
