EVM has earned confidence of voters: Kabita Khanam

RANGPUR, June 20, 2019 (BSS) – Election Commissioner Begum Kabita Khanam today said Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) have earned confidence of voters for ensuring cent percent transparent election as there is no scope of vote rigging using the system.

“In coming elections, EVM will be used in most of the polling centres in the country,” Kabita said while talking to journalists during her visit to Barobari Government Primary School in the city to observe the voter list updating with photographs.

The Election Commissioner said the Election Commission is working sincerely for preparing a transparent and accurate voter roll with birth registrations allover the country.

“The Election Commission is totally committed to preparing a transparent voter list,” she said adding that there has been a very positive response among people allover the country.

Rangpur Regional Election Officer G M Shahatab Uddin, District Election Officer Delwar Hossain, Sadar Upazila Election Officer Kamrul Islam, local Ward Councilor Shafiqul Islam Mithu, headmaster of Barobari Government Primary School Sayeed Hossain were present.

Later, Election Commissioner Begum Kabita Khanam planted a sapling of ‘Bakul’ flower on the school premises.
