Zia, Mezanur share lead after 2nd round in Goa Chess
DHAKA, June 19, 2019 (BSS)- GM Ziaur Rahman and Mezanur Rahman earned
maximum two points after 2nd round games and sharing lead in the points table
along with other 28 players in the 2nd Goa International Open Grandmasters
Chess tournament now being held in Goa, India.
CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh and Abzid Rahman earned half point each out of 2
games.
In the second round games held Wednesday, GM Zia beat Shelke Sankarshah of
India, Mezan beat FM Pranav Anand of India, Abzid drew with Paudel Yubraj of
Nepal and CM Chanchal lost to IM Muthaiah Al of India.
A total of, 246 players from twenty three countries including 35
grandmasters, two women’s grandmasters, twenty nine International Masters and
ten Women’s International Masters are participating in the event.
