CAAB urges all not to throw laser ray targeting aircrafts

DHAKA, June 17, 2019 (BSS) – Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB)
today urged all not to throw laser ray targeting aircrafts landing or taking
off at country’s major airports.

“As per section-26 of Civil Aviation Act 2017, this kind of activity is
punishable offence,” a CAAB press release said here today.

The release said it has been observed that strong laser rays are being
thrown targeting landing and taking off planes at different airports in the
country.

This kind of laser light creates serious problem for pilots in
controlling the aircraft that is a threat to safe aviation, it said.

“The CAAB seek cooperation from everyone in this regard and urged all to
refrain from such activities in order to ensure safe taking off and landing
of planes,” said the release.
