DHAKA, June 16, 2019 (BSS) – Information Secretary Abdul Malek has been elected as the deputy chair of Publicity and Awards Committee of Badminton Asia, the governing body of the sport of badminton in Asia under the flagship of Badminton World Federation (BWF), for 2019-2023 tenure.
With the inclusion of Malek, Bangladesh got its first representative ever in the sport’s governing body executive committee, making it the maiden step of Bangladesh Badminton Federation in the world stage.
In a press release signed by general secretary Amir Hossain Bahar, Bangladesh Badminton Federation has congratulated Abdul Malek for the huge achievement and wished him success.
Badminton Asia is currently represented by 43 member associations from five sub-regions all across Asia. As the governing body, Badminton Asia focuses on promoting, managing and developing the sport in Asia in principles of specificity and universality.
