NARSINGDI, June 15, 2019 (BSS)- A female college student was set on fire by miscreants at Birpur village under Narsingdi pourasabha area on Thursday night.
The victim is Polan Rani Barmon.
According to police, Rani went to a local shop to buy cake around 9pm. Miscreants caught her while she was returning home. They poured kerosene on her body after tiding her hands and legs and then torched her, leaving her injured seriously.
Later, Rani was taken to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Officer-in-charge of Raipura police station Mojaffar Hossain said police detained a suspect named Sanjib Roy, 24, in connection with the incident.
