DHAKA, June 13, 2019 (BSS) – The government in the proposed budget for fiscal 2019-20 increased customs duty on smartphones to 25 percent from the existing 10 percent.
On the other hand, the customs duty on feature phones will remain unchanged at 10 percent.
The duty on mobile phone charger connector pin and SIM slot ejector pin has been reduced to 10 percent from 25 percent.
However, the supplementary duty on the services being provided through mobile phone SIM/RIM cards has been increased from 5 percent to 10 percent.
