11 hijackers arrested in city
DHAKA, June 12, 2019, (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in separate
drives, arrested 11 members of two gangs involved in hijacking from city’s
Sadarghat and Signboard areas last night.
The detainees are identified as Md Arifur Rahman, 34, Md Monir,40, Md
Mostaq Mollah,26, Md Abdul Mukim,27, Md Sohag,28, Billal Hossain,24, Md
Rony,27, Md Shafiqul Islam,35, Md Saiful Islam,28, Md Nasir,40 and Md Zakir
Hossain,48.
Acting on a tip-off, the elite forces of RAB-10 started drives around 7pm
last night and arrested them,” RAB-10 Commanding Officer (Captain) Major
Mohammad Ashraful Huq confirmed the incidents to BSS today.
The RAB recovered a total of 11 knives, 40 blades, 11 mobile phones and Tk
7,830 in cash during the drives, he said.
Legal action will be taken against them as the arrestees were handed over
to the police station, he added.
