HC rule on preparing scheme to rehabilitate rape victims
DHAKA, June 11, 2019 (BSS) – The High Court (HC) today issued a rule
asking authorities concerned to explain as to why the court shall not order
to prepare a scheme to rehabilitate rape victims.
The court also asked the authorities concerned to explain in four weeks
why they should not be directed to give Taka 50 lakh each to the families of
two rape victims from Tangail and Rajshahi.
A nurse from Tangail was killed after gang rape and the schoolgirl from
Rajshahi committed suicide after getting raped last month.
The court came up with the order after holding hearing on a writ filed
by Children Charity Foundation Bangladesh on May 26.
