Jaishankar to boost Bangladesh-India partnership as per Bangabandhu’s dream

DHAKA, June 7, 2019 (BSS) – India’s newly appointed foreign minister S Jaishankar said he is committed to bring the India-Bangladesh partnership up to the level set by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman after the War of Liberation in 1971.

In a letter to his Bangladesh counterpart Dr AK Abdul Momen on June 4, Jaishankar said the relation between the two closest neighbors has become deeper due to the wise and far-sighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, a foreign ministry press release said here today.

The Indian foreign minister said the recent electoral victories of Bangladesh Awami League and Indian National Democratic Alliance with huge mandates show that the peoples in both the countries are in favour of Bangladesh-India partnership.

Jaishankar expressed his keen interest to visit Bangladesh soon.
