One dead, 30 injured as bus skids off road
SYLHET, June 4, 2019 (BSS) – A female passenger died and 30 others were injured when a bus skidded off the road at Osmaninagar area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway here today.
Police said the accident took place this morning when a Sylhet bound bus of Shahjalal Paribahan from Dhaka skidded off the road and fell in a roadside ditch.
Khurshida Begum, 20, a passenger of the bus and wife of Faruk Mia of Berigaon village of Sunamgonj Sadar thana, died on the spot while 30 more passengers sustained injuries.
The injured persons were admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital and other medical centers in the nearby areas.
Receiving information Tajpur fire service workers and highway police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured persons.
