NARAYANGONJ, June 4, 2019 (BSS) – Four persons including two women died and 10 others injured when a passenger carrying bus collided head on with a leguna (locally made motorized vehicle) at Corngope area of Tarabo pourasabha here today.
Deceased women were identified as Rina Khatun, 39, wife of Amin Mia of Samburpur area of Bhairab thana of Kishoregonj and Asma Begum, wife of Mizan Mia of Pirojpur.
Two other persons could not be identified immediately.
Sub-inspector of Kanchpur highway thana Abdus Samad said a Sylhet bound bus from Dhaka collided head on with a leguna coming from opposite direction.
Three passengers of the leguna died on the spot and another one died on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Drivers and helpers of the both transports managed to fled away after the accident. Local people rescued the injured passengers and sent to DMCH and local US Bangla private hospital.
Dead bodies were sent to Narayangonj General Hospital for post mortem, police said.
