RpMP rescues boy, arrests two kidnappers
RANGPUR, June 03, 2019 (BSS) – Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP)
rescued an abducted boy and arrested two kidnapers from Mozar Mour area in
Syedpur upazila of Nilphamari on Sunday night.
“The arrested abductors are Shahin Mian, 20, of Koyagolarhat Basuniapara
and Rony Islam, 25, of village Purbo Belpukur Pakadhara in Syedpur upazila of
Nilphamari,” RpMP Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud told a press conference held
here today.
Earlier, the kidnappers abducted minor boy Ashik, 5, son of Kalu Mian
from Alamnagar Kherbari area in Rangpur city on Saturday evening making him
unconscious by pushing sedative medicine.
After finding Ashik nowhere despite hectic search conducted at all
possible places, his father filed a case in this connection with Tazhat Thana
police of RpMP on Sunday.
By this time, the abductors demanded Taka one-lakh as ransom from
parents of Ashik for his release alive threatening to kill him if their
demand was not fulfilled.
Later, parents of the victim informed the matter to RpMP when its
Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud directed his Additional Deputy Police
Commissioner (Crime) Shahidullah Kawser to rescue the abducted boy and arrest
the criminals.
Taking the advantage of information and communication technologies, a
special RpMP team led by Shahidullah Kawser rescued the abducted boy with
assistance of Syedpur Thana police and arrested the two kidnappers from
Syedpur last night.
“During primary interrogation, the arrested kidnappers admitted their
involvement with kidnapping the boy and demanding ransom from his parents,”
Alim said adding that the rescued boy was handed over to his parents today.
