VGF rice distributed in Panchagarh
PANCHAGARH, June 03, 2019(BSS) – A total of 1,759.215 tonnes of Vulnerable
Group Feeding (VGF) rice was distributed in all five upazilas including three
pourashabhas in the district here today.
Earlier, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief allocated the rice
for distribution among one lakh 17 thousand and 281 poor families in the
district to assist them in celebrating the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festivity,
official sources said.
Each of the card-holder got 15-kg of VGF rice.
“We completed distribution of the rice among the listed VGF card holder
families with assistance of the upazila administrations, local public
representatives and union level committees,” said Deputy Commissioner (DC)
Sabina Yasmin.
Under the programme, 23.100 tonnes of rice was distributed among 1,540 VGF
card holders in Debiganj pourashabha, 69.315 tonnes of rice among 4,621 card
holders in Panchagarh pourashabha and 46.215 tonnes of rice among 3,081 card
holders in Boda pourashabha, sources said.
