DHAKA, June 2, 2019 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said that the government of Awami League (AL) has not only given recognition to the certificates of Qawmi Madrasas but also taken steps to provide Qawmi alems jobs.
“The government of Awami League has not only given recognition to the certificates of Qawmi Madrasas but also providing jobs to the Qawmi alems,” he told the grand finale and prize distribution ceremony of ‘PHP Quran er Alo Protibhar Sandhane-2019’ at a city hotel here.
Dr Hasan Mahmud said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina highly esteems the alem community. The government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has established over 65,000 mosque-based Maktabs across the country and alems of these Maktabs are getting allowances from the government, he added.
Dr Hasan, also Publication and Publicity Secretary of Awami League, said the government has also taken steps to build model mosques in each district and upazila of the country.
PHP Family chairman Sufi Md Mizanur Rahman presided over the programme. Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam also spoke at the programme.
