Bangladesh in pool B in AFC women’s junior hockey
DHAKA, June 1, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh have been drawn along with hosts Singapore, Hong Kong and Uzbekistan in Pool B of Women’s Junior (U-21) AHF Cup hockey qualifiers scheduled to be held in Singapore from September 9 to 15.
On the other hand, Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, Nepal and Sri Lanka featured in Pool A. The top two teams of this tournament will qualify for the Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2020.
China, Japan, South Korea, India, Malaysia and Thailand will play directly, based on their results in the Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2015.
Bangladesh women’s hockey team will take part in an AHF-sanctioned hockey tournament for the first time and they have been undergoing rigorous training camp which started last month.
Bangladesh will face Hong Kong on September 9 before taking on Uzbekistan on September 11. Bangladesh will play their last pool match against Singapore on September 12.
