DHAKA, June 01, 2019 (BSS) – Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the journey of Eid holidaymakers will be comfortable as he negated any possibility of traffic jam on highways.

“There is nothing to be worried of traffic congestion on roads and highways this year. The holidaymakers will also be able to return the capital city smoothly after celebrating the Eid,” he told newsmen while visiting Mahakhali bus terminal here.

Quader, also Awami League general secretary, said: “Though we thought, the people might face trouble on the Airport-Gazipur road due to rain as road repairing works continues there. But in reality, there is no problem on this route”

Speed of vehicles, he said, could be slower on highways due to rain, but there is no possibility of traffic gridlock.

About the complexity over full-fledged committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the AL general secretary said the complexity will be overcome soon as discussion is going on with the agitators.

Road Transport Owners Association President Khandker Enayet Ullah and Transport Workers’ leader Osman Ali were present on the occasion.
