NILPHAMARI, May 31, 2019 (BSS) – A total of 4,0,4315 poor and distressed families will get 6,64,725 tonnes of rice under special Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) Programme in the district to celebrate upcoming of Eid-ul-Fitr
festivity.
Officials of the district Relief and Rehabilitation said the Ministry of
Disaster Management and Relief has allocated the rice for distribution to the
poor and distressed families in all six upazilas and four poursabhas in the
district.
Each family will get 15 kilograms of rice under the programme.
Distribution of rice has already started, they said adding 3,90,452 poor
families under six upazila would be given VGF rice while 13,863 families
under four pourashabha will get the rice.
The VGF rice distribution programme will continue till June 3.
